Abtract:

The goal of the project is to research and propose a transmitarray antenna structure with good characteristics, compact size, and the ability to change the radiation direction electronically to meet the increasing requirements of communications systems as well as radar systems. The research team proposed an unit-cell structure capable of changing phase by combining with PIN diode switching elements to design a transmitarray antenna that allows electronic control of radiation direction. The unit-cell has a simple structure, capable of providing more than 2 phase states. The transmitarray prototype is fabricated and installed into the antenna measurement system in an anechoic chamber at RF & Microwave Laboratory – International University. Radiation characteristics and efficiency are measured to demonstrate the ability of the transmitarray antenna to change the radiation direction.
